It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - Season 4

FX has a good thing going with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. For this off-the-wall, slightly absurdist comedy to have made its way to season four is no small task given the state of sitcoms today. Thankfully, we are finally graced with Season 4 on DVD whilst Season 5 premiers on the tube.

Season 4 stays true to the roots of the series with off-the-wall non-linear episodes that follow the lives of a group of friends who center around Paddy's Bar in Philly. Dee, Charlie, Frank, Mac and Dennis get themselves in much hijinkx. From creating a musical in the present day to cracking the Liberty Bell in a flashback, the gang makes every moment hilarious.

Truly, this season was defined by its finale, The Nightman Cometh, where the group gets involved in performing a musical. The Nightman Cometh stands as a triumph of satirizing comic book heroes in a musical theater setting. To that end, the best special feature ever is a live-action rendition of this finale with all the actors in a small setting. Hilarious! The other terrific and unique special feature are two of Dennis Reynolds' Erotic Life stories. There's also a rather unimpressive gag reel. Tiny boy, baby boy, little boy, I need you!
