The rumor mill can spin down now. JoJo Siwa confirmed in an interview what fans have been saying recently: Things between her and UK reality star Chris Hughes are "not platonic anymore."
Opening up to British newspaper the Guardian in an article published June 2, Siwa, 22, confessed, "It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way."
Claims that they were "platonic" were leaving fans increasingly unconvinced, especially after Hughes posted a selfie of himself and JoJo Siwa snuggling under the covers.
In the wake of photos showing the two in various close-and-comfy clenches during Siwa's birthday celebrations, Hughes took to Snapchat on June 1 to share an intimate portrait of the two in bed together. Wrapped around each other beneath a white blanket, with Siwa's head resting on Hughes' chest and Hughes planting a kiss on her forehead, the two seemed thoroughly enamoured.
"Sleepinnn beauty," Hughes captioned the snap.
On Instagram Stories, the English sports presenter and reality TV star posted pics of himself playing video games with Siwa's father and a video of Siwa kissing him on the head, People Magazine noted.
"The latest snaps follow a string of PDA-filled posts and outings," People detailed. "It also comes less than a week after Siwa publicly clarified that, despite appearances, Hughes is not her boyfriend."
Detailed the writeup: "In an appearance on ITV's Lorraine on May 26, host Andi Peters mentioned Siwa's rumored romance with Hughes and suggested that he was her boyfriend. Her response? An awkward laugh and one-word answer: 'No.'"
The two forged a bond while appearing together on "Celebrity Big Brother" in the UK. Siwa told the Guardian that before entering the house, she had a peculiar intuition about what was to come.
"I don't think I'm gonna win, but I think I'm gonna change," the entertainer recalled telling her mother, Jessalyn, who also works as her manager.
"Little did I know it was going to change my personal life so much," Siwa added. "By a landslide, it is the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Siwa formerly identified a lesbian, and declared on "Big Brother" that her identity would remain intact, along with her relationship with her then-partner, Kath Ebbs, when housemate Mickey Rourke seemed to suggest that he would convince her to become heterosexual.
But as the show went on, Siwa was seen having a "flirty" bond with Hughes. At one point, Siwa was seen having a middle-of-the-night conversation with fellow houseguest Danny Beard and coming to the conclusion that she is "queer" rather than a lesbian. Siwa cheered that she was "going to the Q!"
After the season ended, Siwa broke up with Ebbs but still insisted that she and Hughes were just friends.
But fans expressed skepticism when the two posted images related to Siwa's May 19 birthday: Hughes and Siwa at a kitchen table, enjoying take-out as Siwa sips from a coffee cup emblazoned with a photo of the two of them; Hughes showing off a pile of what looks like birthday presents and explaining, "My mum taught me how to wrap." The duo posed on the set of NBC's "Access Daily"; Siwa snuggling close to Hughes on a sofa; and Hughes and Siwa in a nighttime clench, him with a hand on her thigh.
A close-up of Hughes' hand resting on Siwa's leg rounded out the intimate imagery, and set Gay Twitter aflame with commentary.
"the hand on her thigh is definitely them together yall," one commentator posted in response, while another declared, "If this isn't confirmation then I don't know what is".
"The best chemistry 😍," another fan swooned, while one starry missive congratulated the pop star with, "Happy for you Taurus queen 💐💐💐".
Then came the June 1 bed-set snap, which elicited more comments in the Twittersphere.
To the writer from the Guardian, Siwa came across as "utterly smitten, the hearts-for-eyes emoji in human form."
"I won't ever speak for him," Siwa told the outlet, "but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now."
Something else the Guardian took note of: Siwa still thinks of herself as queer.
"There's a lot of different sexual identities," the pop entertainer mused. "I think there's nothing more beautiful than somebody discovering themselves."
