"X Factor" winner Matt Terry has come out as gay, and he is seemingly trying to make amends for the lengths he has gone through to hide his sexuality.
As reported by The Daily Mail, making amends for how he has behaved in his previous relationships
Terry, 30, won the 13th season of the show in 2016 and followed up that win with his debut album "Trouble." Discussing how he hid his sexuality for years, Terry said he would break out in a sweat at the thought of being exposed.
"I'm very proud [of my sexuality], and I'm no longer afraid," Matt told the Gay Times.
Now, according to Terry, he wants to set the "record straight" with a new song and video.
People are gonna be like, 'Is this news?'" he said. "I've been hiding who I was, and I haven't really opened up. I've never let anybody in."
Terry kept his first love with a man a secret but has reportedly penned an apology to the unnamed man in his new song, "His car."
'I live now with an open mind and open heart, and I feel like we should all live by the statement that we all say: love is love,' he said.
