Queer sister duo Tegan and Sara announced Tuesday that they'll be releasing a new album called "Hey, I'm Just Like You."

The album, available on Sept. 27, will feature re-records of songs they first wrote while in high school, Pitchfork reports.

"While working on our memoir, we discovered lost cassette tapes that had been unheard for over 20 years," Tegan Quin said in a press release. "They contained dozens of our first songs, written between the ages of 15 and 17.... We immediately recognized the songs as an essential part of our high school story."

"With only minor tweaks to lyrics and structure, we tried to remain true to the original essence of each song," Sara Quin added.

"Hey, I'm Just Like You" was made by a team of all women, including producer Alex Hope, engineer Rachel Findlen and more.

Tegan and Sara's upcoming album follows their 2016 record "Love You to Death." The sisters also plan to release a new memoir called "High School" which is out on Sept. 24.

The band also released a trailer for their album and wrote, "We recorded over 40 songs when we were in high school. But the cassettes were lost. Unheard for 20 years. In 2019, while writing our memoir 'High School,' they were found."
