PopUps: It Looks Like New Lorde Music is on the Way
It has been a long time since we last heard new material from Lorde - but it looks like that's about to change.
Idolator points out a website from the singer's record label, Republic Records, says she will release new music on March 7.
NME suggests the release, which is labeled "Confidential Title" on the Republic Records site, will be Lorde's new album - her follow up to the 2013 hit "Pure Heroine." But Idolator notes the other listings on the site are release dates for singles - Julia Michaels's "Issues," which dropped on Feb. 7, and Ariana Grande's "Everyday," which came out on Feb. 14.
Republic Records COO Charlie Walk offered a bit of a Lorde update when speaking with Architectural Digest earlier this month, to discuss the label's offices. When asked what he's most looking forward to in the coming months, Walk said, "For me personally, I'm very excited about the Lorde Music Listening Session, playing some music to the community in a studio on Friday, which will be fantastic."
And just in case Republic Records removes the listing from its site, check out a screen shot of the Lorde release date below. Also, revisit Lorde's "Royals" below.
